Our modern surgical suite is equipped with the latest veterinary medical instruments for your pet's surgery. The Animal Medical Hospital of Belair Road can perform soft-tissue procedures, including spay / neuter surgeries, cystotomies, tumor removals, repairs to the eyelid and many others.
If your pet should need orthopedic surgical care, the Animal Medical Hospital of Belair Road can help. We perform simple fracture repairs and hip surgeries. In addition, for more complex surgeries, we work with veterinary surgical specialists who come to our office or refer to local veterinary surgery specialty practices.
Pain Management
Your pet should be as safe and comfortable as possible during surgery. The Animal Medical Hospital of Belair Road uses advanced pain management protocols to keep your pet comfortable and pain free during surgery. We use isoflorane anesthesia and also pre-medicate your pet using pain medications to minimize pain.
Prior to surgery, your pet receives a complete physical exam. This helps us develop an anesthetic protocol that's unique to your pet. To keep your pet comfortable during surgery, we use the latest anesthetic methods. During surgery, your pet's vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse oximetry, body temperature, and heart rate, are monitored. A highly trained veterinary technician is on hand during surgery to monitor your pet.
Your pet is given pain control medications following surgery. We believe that pets that are free from pain recover more quickly. These medications are necessary to keep your pet comfortable and promote a speedy recovery.
